2025 Graduation Information
Greetings Roughrider Seniors and their Parents & Guardians,
The 2025 RHS Graduation will be on May 23, 2025, at 7:00pm. The ceremony will be held on campus at Randall Hess Stadium.
The week of Graduation (5/19-5/23)
Senior students do not have school on 5/19, 5/20 or 5/21, although teachers will finalize grades on Monday, 5/19.
The final Senior Checkout will take place on Thursday, 5/22 from 11-2pm in the Main Office. This is for students, who haven't done so prior, to have their Graduate Check Out Form signed by Athletics/Activities, Food Service, Technology team, and Counseling Departments, making sure all fees are items are taken care of before graduation. All outstanding fees are to be paid before the graduation ceremony.
On Thursday, 5/22 at 8:45am, the Senior Parade will occur for all graduates. If you plan on attending, please report, in your cap and gown, by 8:45am at the main entrance so we can leave for the Weld Re5J elementary and middle schools at 8:55am. This is a super fun event, and always exciting for the seniors, but also for the elementary students, who line the hallway and high five of our graduates. We will return at 10:45am after visiting all 5 schools: Elwell, Roosevelt MS, Pioneer Ridge, MES and KQA.
On 5/22 at 1:00pm, the Senior Luncheon will be held in the RHS Cafe Commons and Courtyard. The RHS Administration will be providing lunch from Chick-Fil- A. This is a great opportunity for a few last pictures, and yearbook signing. We will also communicate important announcements about graduation rehearsal to follow.
On 5/22 at 1:30pm we will have Graduation Rehearsal. The Seniors will meet in the Arena, and will find their names on the walls, and what RHS staff member will be leading them out graduation evening. The students are grouped alphabetically, so it will be quite easy to find themselves. No reason to bring caps or a gown, although sunscreen would be a suggestion if it is a hot day, as they will be sitting on the field for about an hour during rehearsal.
On 5/22 at 7:00pm Senior Sunset will occur. The students should meet in the RHS Courtyard. Students should bring their blankets and comfortable clothing for the annual event, as it could get cold once the sun goes down.
On 5/23, it is Graduation Day!! Students should arrive at 6:15pm, dressed in cap and gown, and report to the Arena. Both the north and south entrance doors of the school will be open for students to enter. We will be leaving the Arena at 6:57pm on the dot, heading out the east exit of the building and walking to the stadium.
Graduation Night Information for Families and Guests
The gates to the stadium will open for seating at 4:30pm on May 23rd. We will have 2 entrance gates for admission to the event. The first will be the main entrance (ticket booth) on the south side and the other entrance will be on the north side of the campus, Gate 4, adjacent the NW corner of the Field House. This will be an ideal entrance for those parking on the north side of the building.
Reserving seats prior to 4:30pm on May 23rd will no longer be needed or allowed. Thank you for your cooperation as we create a more fair system for all families, and we feel that all families will be able to now sit in the stands with a great view of the ceremony. Seating on the west or east side bleachers should give a desirable view of the stage.
Graduation Tickets are be required for entry. Each graduate will receive 12 complimentary tickets for their guests. Those tickets have been distributed to students during their advisory during the past few weeks. If families do not need 12 tickets please give back the remaining tickets to your Advisory teacher OR to the main office. All extra tickets held by the school have been distributed at this point. The tickets are general admission, so if students have any extra tickets that they can redistribute to other students who may need them, that's fine by us.
Current RHS students who are NOT seniors, but may like to attend graduation to see their friends can enter without tickets, but are asked to sit in the grass or plaza area. You must show your RHS student ID to enter. We want to do our best to keep the seats in the stands available for family and guests of the Senior graduates.
Deciding where to sit? The stage will be set up at the 5 yard line, on the south end of the football field. The graduates will be sitting on the left of the 50 yard line. We will exit the east doors of the building and walk through the plaza to the top of the stairs entering the field on the north side of the track, walking in pairs on the track, before turning left and walking to their assigned seats. The ceremony will most likely conclude at 8:30pm, and at that time, guests will be invited out onto the field for pictures if desired.
A few of our underclassmen from AV Broadcasting will take pictures of graduates as they leave the stage, and we will upload those for our families.
Can't make the ceremony? Not to worry, the graduation ceremony will be broadcast on the Athletic Department YouTube Channel, @rhsroughridersathletics2023. Here is the link directly to RHS Live Streams on YouTube.
Parking is available in the main lot on the south side, as well as the north lot. We will have overflow parking east of the stadium in the field. That entry will be on the north drive.
